Byte has paused operations

Byte, a network provider of our Ortho@Home program, has paused its operations effective October 25, 2024, and announced that its aligner treatment will be put on hold until future notice. Byte has informed us that they are re-evaluating their onboarding process and have made a decision to suspend operations until the evaluation has been completed and further recommendations can be provided.

What this means for your clients

All orders that were not processed or shipped by Byte on or before October 25th, 2024, have been paused until further notice. If your clients have already started treatment and received all their aligners, they can continue to use their aligners as directed by Byte.

If they have questions about treatment in progress, they can visit Byte.com and select “Important Message for Patients” for the most current updates and information. We will send out employer and member notifications during the month of December.

How this impacts other orthodontic treatment

Members' Anthem dental coverage is not changing. If their dental plan includes an orthodontia benefit, we will continue to cover traditional in-office orthodontic treatment, which includes Invisalign® clear aligners in a dental provider’s office.
