We are aware of Senate Bill 2843, Health Care Coverage: Rape and Sexual Assault, which mandates that a health care service plan contract or health insurance policy must provide coverage for emergency room medical care and follow-up health care treatment for an enrollee or insured who is treated following a rape or sexual assault. We’re in the process of thoroughly reviewing the requirements established in this new mandate to ensure that we will be compliant upon its effective date, which is currently applicable for health plans offered or renewed on or after July 1, 2025.
