We are making every effort to ensure that your clients continue to have access to their current primary care physicians and specialty providers through alternate medical group affiliations. We are committed to reaching an agreement that keeps their healthcare affordable. While most members experience consistent copays, any significant price increases requested by Optum could reflect in premium adjustments. Our goal remains to protect members from these increases and maintain affordable coverage across our network.
We've let clients affected by this change know that Anthem and Optum are still in contract renewal discussions. If a new agreement is not reached, the contract will terminate and Optum will no longer be part of the Commercial HMO network effective January 1, 2026, and Anthem will assign them to an alternate medical group. We will mail new member ID cards no later than five days before their new effective date. They can also use the Find Care feature at anthem.com/ca to find available providers.
Please let your clients know that while their medical group may change, their benefits remain unchanged.
Your clients can contact an Anthem customer service representative using the toll-free customer service number 1-844-971-0117, or the toll-free member services number on their current ID card if they have concerns about their care.
