Prepare for 2024 open enrollment

With Virginia moving to the state-based Health Benefit Exchange this year, it’s time to prepare for key dates and changes for the 2024 open enrollment period.

Here are the key dates and actions to remember:

• 7/28 – Registration begins for the Health Benefit Exchange agent training and certification.
• 8/11 – HBE training and certification begins.
• 8/23 – HBE Town Hall. (Email ExchangeAgents@scc.virginia.gov to attend)
• 9/7 – The Required Agent Information Form must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. to create your agent account in Virginia’s insurance marketplace.
  • Those who do not meet this deadline will be required to build their own book of business manually.
• 9/15 – Anthem’s Virtual broker roadshow.
• 9/20 – HBE Town Hall. (Email ExchangeAgents@scc.virginia.gov to attend)
• 10/10 – Window shopping open on new state-based exchange. Certification training should be completed for 2024 open enrollment.
• 11/1 – Open enrollment begins.
• 1/15/2024 – Open enrollment ends.
