We remain committed to reaching an agreement with Scripps Health that protects access and keeps healthcare affordable. We have agreed with Scripps on a reasonable price increase for patient care. These prices directly affect patients’ out-of-pocket costs and what employers pay for health benefits.
What’s preventing a new contract
Scripps is requesting additional financial guarantees that would push costs even higher. We are ready to finalize a contract that protects access and helps lower healthcare costs, and we remain hopeful an agreement can be reached.
At the same time, Scripps Clinic and Scripps Coastal Medical Center are leaving our HMO network effective October 1, 2026. To help affected HMO members continue to receive care, we have begun assigning new primary care physicians (PCPs) in their plan’s network. A dedicated team is also available to help with questions about new PCPs and care options.
