Kennebunk boy named Anthem Hero at Hadlock

Large Group, Small Group, Individual | ME

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine partners with the Maine Children's Cancer Program every summer to recognize Anthem Heroes at Hadlock. The recognition honors courageous Maine kids who have battled childhood cancer or other serious medical conditions. We honored six-year-old Jackson Kalbhenn on May 25 before the Portland Sea Dogs baseball game at Hadlock Field. He ran the bases with his sister Sophia while players and the Sea Dogs mascot Slugger gave them high-fives.

The Anthem Heroes at Hadlock program provides children who have battled a serious medical condition a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Hadlock Field. Each honoree takes a celebratory home run lap around the bases of Hadlock Field at a Portland Sea Dogs home game. The children and their families also receive other VIP privileges at the game. The Anthem Heroes at Hadlock program will recognize three more courageous kids this season, the next two will be on July 2 and August 4.
