Participating dentists in Kentucky are no longer limited to contracted rates for services provided after a member reaches their annual maximum benefit. The recently passed state legislation* applies to both fully insured and self-funded members. It took effect July 25, 2026.
This change only applies to dental members who have received their full annual maximum. Most members’ out-of-pocket costs will not change.
Encourage members who may need dental treatment that could exceed their maximum benefit to discuss treatment costs with their dentist. They should consider requesting a pre-treatment cost estimate from their dentist.
Members can review their remaining annual maximum by logging into their account on anthem.com or the Sydney® Health app, or by calling the Member Services number on the back of their ID card.
