We’re sharing this updated information in case you have clients in the impacted areas.
We’re making temporary changes to health plan benefits to provide relief and ensure healthcare access for members impacted by the January winter storm emergency that affected several central and eastern states.
The updated changes are in effect for the following states for members who live in these states and have Anthem group health plans through their employers or Anthem individual and family plans:
- Georgia (entire state) January 22 through February 20, 2026.
- Indiana (entire state) January 23 through February 21, 2026.
- Kentucky (entire state) January 23 through February 23, 2026.
- New York (entire state) January 23 through February 21, 2026.
- North Carolina (entire state) January 21 through February 19, 2026.
- Ohio (entire state) January 24 through February 22, 2026.
- Virginia (entire state) January 22 through February 20, 2026.
The changes are also for emergency responders who have been assigned to the area by their state or local agency but do not live in the impacted area.
We want to make sure your clients and their members have access to the healthcare they need. We can help with finding available doctors, refilling prescription drugs, and other health plan questions. For assistance during the emergency, members can call the Member Services number on their member ID card.
