Earlier this year, we announced that Anthem had partnered with Paytient to give ACA clients in Georgia, Missouri, and Virginia an easier way to pay for healthcare services. Paytient is a health payment account (HPA) that members can use to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses today and repay over time — without interest or fees.
The results are in: Paytient is a hit with members, with over 1,000 accounts activated and over $265,000 in total transactions completed through June 6. Members who were surveyed about using Paytient cited access to care and reduced stress related to medical expenses as the main reasons they appreciate the program. “I love that Paytient doesn’t charge interest or late fees. Since healthcare is something we all need, it makes a huge difference when the stress of paying for healthcare is made easier,” one member said.
