COVID-19 Conversations: The different types of COVID-19 tests

It’s important for people to understand their COVID-19 testing options should they need to get tested. To help you and your clients understand your options, check out our latest article on the COVID-19 Resource Center called, The Different Types of COVID-19 Tests. You’ll learn more about:

  • - Viral tests – Learn the pros and cons between molecular and antigen tests.
  • - At-home tests – Find at-home test options using our COVID-19 Test Site Finder. Members will collect their own sample and send it back to the lab for analysis. When they receive the results, they should share them with their doctor who can suggest an appropriate care plan.
  • - Combination tests – Doctors can use a nasal or oral swab to test for influenza A, influenza B, and COVID-19 at the same time.
  • - Antibody tests – These blood tests may help determine if someone has had a past infection with the virus that causes COVID-19.
