Following our parent company’s acquisition of Paragon Healthcare in January 2024, Paragon Healthcare was integrated into CarelonRx to further streamline specialty pharmacy and infusion care delivery.
With this integration, Paragon Healthcare is now fulfilling specialty medications for all new groups with effective dates on or after January 1, 2026.
In addition, beginning April 15, 2026, your clients’ and their dependents who receive medical specialty medications through CVS Specialty Pharmacy will also transition to Paragon Healthcare in a phased approach throughout 2026.
Our highest priority is maintaining continuity of care and ensuring your clients continue to receive their specialty therapies on time.
To that end we’re committed to supporting a smooth, coordinated transition with minimal disruption to members, providers, and health plans.
What your clients can expect:
- Pre-migration outreach: Paragon Healthcare will call each impacted member to gather necessary information to support the transition.
- Provider coordination: Paragon healthcare will contact the prescribing provider, when appropriate, to help facilitate the migration.
To support a coordinated transition, we will also:
- Send letters to impacted clients in accordance with state-specific requirements.
- Provide corresponding letters for clients’ prescribing providers.
No action is required from you or your clients at this time.
Here is a summary of the upcoming migration phases:
